Medication Consent
New York State Office of Children & Family Services require that children receiving any medication (prescribed or over the counter) at the center must complete a “Written Medication Consent Form” which is available on our Forms Page.
To Bing List - With the start of another school year please be sure to bring the following items in for your child: Toothbrush/toothpaste, art smock, appropriate outdoor clothing, and a journal/notebook for correspondence from your child's teacher. Please be sure to label all items.
Erie County Child Care Subsidies - Effective 8/23/10 the Erie County Department of Social Services expanded child care subsidies for working families. Many families that previously did not qualify for subsidies may now qualify due to increased funding and higher income limits. For information on how to apply call 858-8953 or go to the county government web page for Social Services Department www.erie.gov/depts/socialservices .
Winter Clothing - with the change of seasons, please be sure your child has appropriate outdoor clothing and shoes. With the winter weather approaching please make sure your child has appropriate clothing (hats, jacket, gloves, snow pants, boots). We will have outdoor play on days that the weather and conditions permit.
Child Information Update - New York State regulations require that parents review certain child information semi-annually to confirm that the center has up to date information. The review only takes a minute or two. Files are available at the front desk.
Closing Information - Closing information due to inclement weather can be obtained at WGRZ.com, WGRZ Channel 2, or WBEN 930 AM.
Upcoming Center Events
Tae Kwon Do Enrichment Program - Our 3 year old and 4 year old rooms participate in Master Chong's Tae Kwon Do classes every Thursday, throughout the school year. The children really enjoy these classes that promote their physical development and self-confidence.
Spanish Enrichment Program - For those parents that are interested, we have packages available of the Spanish vocabulary that our children learn during their daily Spanish enrichment program. Copies of these packages are available at the front desk.
Staff Development/Training - Our staff has or will be completing continuing education in the following areas: "Making Musical Memories" - musical activities and their effect on child development. "Outdoor Winter Play Activities" - outdoor play ideas. "Healthy You, Healthy Kids" - nutritional training and ideas for pre-school children. "Building Bridges with Parents" - training on establishing communication and relationships with parents. We commend our staff for their continued dedication in keeping current in their professional training and development. Our staff completes this training during evening training sessions. They are truly dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for our children.
Dental Health Visit, Tuesday, February 7, 2012 - Dr. Paul A Weiss's Office will be visiting our center and conducting a presentation on dental health for our children. The children will learn about dental health and healthy eating during this fun and educational presentation. Thank you to Dr. Weiss's team for coming to our center each year to teach our children about dental health and hygiene.
Valentine's Day Party, Tuesday, February 14, 2012 - Our classrooms will be holding individual Valentine's Day parties. Children can exchange valentines and enjoy some Valentine Day treats. See sign up sheets on your child's bulletin board.

Sesame Street Live - Elmo's Super Heroes - Thursday, February 23, 2012 - Our Green, Blue, and School Age classrooms will be attending "Sesame Street Live - Elmo's Super Heroes" at Shea's Theatre. Our children always enjoy the Sesame Street shows and also enjoy visiting the beautiful Shea's Theatre. Permission slips have been distributed. Chaperones are welcomed. Please turn in permission slips to the front desk.
